Since this particular battery storage system had to be placed in the basement of the home, our solution included the installation of a fire-rated closet in addition to the battery equipment. According to Electrical Safety Authority (ESA) regulations in Ontario, battery storage systems installed in basements must be contained in a dedicated space, fire-rated to one hour.
Despite this layer of complexity, the diverse capabilities of our team allowed the entire installation to be completed in just over two days, with the fire-rated closet installed on day one and all battery storage equipment installed on day two – including conduits and cabling, disconnecting, and reconnecting to the grid.
The final safety inspection from the ESA took place the following day. Once the installation was complete, our team connected the battery storage system to the Tesla mobile app to enable the homeowner to view real-time data on the status of their new equipment.
