The Green Municipal Fund (GMF) provides funding to cover up to 80% of eligible costs for capital projects to retrofit community buildings, such as libraries, swimming pools, and community centres, to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by a minimum of 30 per cent.
The funding includes up to $5 million per project, with up to 25% as a grant and the remainder as a loan. The program is available to all Canadian municipal governments except Low Carbon Cities Canada (LC3) namesake municipalities. Find out if your project is eligible.
